About the Principals

John H. Moon
President & CEO

In his role as President & CEO since 2009, Mr. Moon has provided marketing, operational and strategic initiatives that have led to MCT Worldwide LLC’s re-emergence as a leader in strip handling processes for the global semiconductor industry.

John has used his extensive and varied perspective as a former venture capitalist, tech executive and electrical engineer to successfully help MCT become the dominant player in strip testing with a market share in excess of 70%.

Prior to assuming his leadership role at MCT, Mr. Moon has worked for a variety of investment and technology focused industries for more than 25 years. He has served in senior management positions at several venture and private equity investment firms both in the U.S. and Asia, as well as held leadership roles in technology focused companies in the communications, electronics and IT industries.

Mr. Moon is a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University with a Masters in Electrical Engineering and the Darden Executive Education TEP90 Program at the University of Virginia.

Douglas K. Park
Chief Financial Officer

Douglas Park is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of MCT Worldwide. Prior to his appointment as CFO, Mr. Park served as the Managing Director of MCT’s Penang Operations over the last two years, overseeing its day to day operations. He was responsible for analyzing and improving all aspects of the operation with the emphasis on efficiency and optimal utilization of its resources, including customer/vendor relationships.

With more than 25 years of experience in the field of finance, he applied his expertise in evaluating, structuring, and operating companies in various industries, including technology, healthcare, and consumer products and services. He held similar financial and operating roles at Emcore, MySimon, and Surgery.com, among others, and was instrumental in the growth of these companies.

Previously, he held several senior positions for large financial institutions, including Citicorp Venture Capital and Ameritech Pension Trust. More recently, following his involvement in several dotcom start-ups, he was active in privately supporting or operating promising young companies.

Douglas received his BA and MBA (Finance) degrees from Columbia University.

Richard S. Sidell, Sc.D.
Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Sidell has served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of MCT since 1998 and has been the company’s leading architect in facilitating MCT’s rise as the industry’s pacesetter in Strip Testing Technology. Dr. Sidell, a Doctoral Graduate and faculty member at MIT is well known in the semiconductor manufacturing industry for his innovative development of test handling and laser marking technology that today is used in thousands of machines purchased by a global Who’s Who of chip makers.

Prior to working with MCT, Dr. Sidell notably worked for the Aseco Corporation and Electric Scientific Industries where he served in various senior research and development positions that involved laser memory repair systems for DRAM sector of the semiconductor industry, laser marking and strip test handers used in Semiconductor Test and Assembly operation.

Dr. Sidell received his Doctor of Science Degree (Sc.D.) from the Department of Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1972. He served on the faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT for several years, teaching courses in System Dynamics and Control, Optimal Control Theory and Computer Aided Experimentation before leaving the educational sector to engage in a series of industrial positions, all of which involved the use of integrated computers to control industrial processes or machines.

Kenneth A. Ramsey
EVP Sales and Business Development

Ken Ramsey is the Executive VP of Sales and Business Development for MCT Worldwide, LLC.

He has been instrumental in overseeing the company’s world-wide sales force and directing its global marketing initiatives that have enabled MCT to become the leading global player in the “Strip Testing Market”, enabling it to hold a greater than 70% share of that growing industry.

Ken initially served MCT Inc. as its Director of Sales for Asia and was involved in introducing the company’s first Strip Test handlers to the market. His mechanical engineering background and experience working as a VP of Sales in Asia for two well-known industry players like Amkor Technology and NEXX Systems, have given Ken a valuable perspective that has created market success for MCT and its expanding global client base.

In addition to working for Amkor Technology and NEXX Systems, Ken has also held executive positions with Concurrent Computer Corporation and RVSI.

Ken holds a BSME from Wichita State University and an MSME from the University of Michigan. Ken and his family reside in Pleasanton, California.

Jeffrey S. Morphy
Vice President Worldwide Operations

Jeff has managed Global Operations and Engineering for MCT since 2007 and joined the company in 1996. He brings over 14 years of experience in strip, pick and place, and gravity test handling for “back end” Semiconductor Test.

From 1996 to 2007, Jeff held key management positions in Manufacturing, Product Development, Field Applications, and Customer Service. He has also been instrumental in bringing multiple generations of strip test and laser mark handlers to our customer base.

Before joining MCT, Jeff was a Non Commissioned Officer in the US Army for 10 years supervising the test and repair of “black box” electronics for the Apache helicopter, missile systems, and cryptographic equipment utilizing Automated Test Equipment (ATE). His education came through various technical and leadership courses in the military as well as Associate of Applied Science in Electronics studies at Cochise College in Arizona.
